About Bill developed the love of photography at an early age, inspired by his father, who took up the medium while Bill was in High school. After learning from his father, the “Old School” techniques of shooting film, as well as dark room development, he began to shoot for his high school yearbook, and sought to learn everything he could, in order to produce the best images possible. During Collage the love of aviation took hold, Bill learned to fly, and went on to become a flight instructor, in order to build a pathway to his dreams of becoming both a military and commercial aviator. He put down his camera in pursuit of his laser-focused determination to become the professional pilot he dreamed of since boyhood. He was accepted to U.S. Air Force pilot training, and graduated at the top of his class. Bill then at-tended C-130 school in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he began a 26-year career, flying the C-130E and C-130J model fixed wing aircraft. By 1994 Bill was employed as commercial Airline Pilot with a top U.S. carrier, he also flew the C-130 simultaneously, for the Air National Guard. After a long break from photography, Bill felt pulled toward fulfilling his creative passions; He once again picked up a camera and began documenting squadron aircrew members, the missions they flew, the deployments they participated in and the destinations they traveled to that are seldom seen by those in the civilian world. He studied at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California, and attended numerous weekend seminars to continually improve his skills. He devoted hours of study online, to hone his skills, and continued to photograph Aircraft as well as the men and women who operated and maintained them. He became known for his composite work, after photographing a friend, and squadron mate, as a retirement gift. By compositing multiple images together, he created a stunning image, one that has become very popular and has been subsequently requested by numerous Pilots and Aircrew members. Bill’s work has been featured in a variety military magazine, journals and brochures, as well as featured by military contractors for promotional materials.
